It seems the flow of my environment
is spinning me around
surging floods of circumstances
knock my feet off solid ground.
As much as I desire it,
outside these waters I can’t thrive,
for there is Someone in these waters
aptly keeping me alive.
If in the trials and tribulations
I could in trust discern
the goodness of the all-wise God,
I might welcome every turn
that wrenches from my grasp
things I hold so very dear
in exchange for explanations,
I admit, seem quite unclear.
But faith in Him who justifies
the ungodly through His blood,
can set me firm upon the rock,
sustain me through the flood.
For He is here amid the waters,
revealing with each tide,
a faithful, Holy Lord of all
standing at my side.
This sculpture is mounted on a swivel base to give a full effect of movement.
