Final Kiss
A father holds within His hands,
the life of a rebel son,
regardless of all efforts,
the child’s heart could not be won.
With tears He grants this child’s demand,
to live separate, far apart,
from the love that formed it in the womb,
far from the Father’s heart.
There is a penalty for our “sovereignty”
death and hell the only place
a man can be where he cannot see
God’s ever holy face.
‘Though a way was made
when the debt was paid,
by God the Son dying in our stead,
people choose to be what they consider “free”,
choosing rather to be dead.
So, with an ache past comprehension
for this child He’ll always miss,
as the heart now still, begins to fade,
Love gently gives a final kiss.
