Banking the Wind

If the wind is only there

when I feel it is around,

then any great distraction,

can drop me to the ground.

If truth is strictly relative,

a product of my mind,

then any truth beyond my thoughts

would be impossible to find.

But if the wind is real

and consistent in its ways

then my wings can press into it

and I can soar above the haze.

For if there is a Truth immutable

one that is really there,

then I’d be a fool to place my wings

into relative thin air.
